Airport

Believe it or not, Aren't We Naughty just came off the best October in its history. Kind of liking this recession.....actually my investment portfolio, reminds me of a Rappers pants....sitting really low....and dragging.

Well, I'm at the airport waiting for my flight to Shanghai, China. Checking the weather there, I should not have perhaps booked so long there as its dam cold, almost the same as Toronto.

Anyway, there is a show in Macau and I want to show our line there. We have such a great line of products I need to show Asia too. The show was a fluke as I was going there anyway to Hong Kong - Shenzhen area. We will see what to expect. My booth looks good, I have posters with me and we are ready to go. I think we will look slick.

So all the best. Will update in Shanghai, my favourite city.

Merry Christmas

Well its that time.

The Everything to do with Sex Show is now over. While Aren't We Naughty did not participate in it this year, we were still there under the Power Bullet brand and the Ultimate Personal Shaver. See the way I see it is this. In 2006, we were large and showed our strength as the King of Adult retailing in Toronto. Are stores are clean and fairly large and that is what image we wanted. Now since AWN dropped out of last years show do to a management change, all the other retailers must have cheered and now the organizers of the Everything to do with Sex Show don't offer us the dominant space and at the price I want. Therefore we will not go in with only 6 booths and give the feeling we are are scaling down.

For us, the show used to be an advertisement. I was proud. Financially having a beautiful booth is a financial killer. I must say, I am proud of my friends over at Lovedreamer, who put a great booth together. Great Job guys. Again, Attractive booths cost money and nobody gives you a break during a show. Small business can't afford it, and that is understandable. What is most important is entertainment for the paying customer who drops 25 bucks. The paying public want to see some Tits and Ass....ummm, and so do I....

Anyway, my teams in booth booths had so much fun and congratulations go out to Kim who busted her butt to contribute to her booth's success. Also to Maggie and her team in the UPS booth. This team went beyond the call of duty and practically shaved anyone who walked by.

The other side of AWN, BMS Enterprises, where I hang my hat, we are in prime form. My team graphics are working hard on a new catalogue and are creating some strikingly nice new clean products with some yummy results. For example, the 5" Executive Power Bullet is my favourite product, and I know what I'm talking about. This will be a lady favourite. It can still fit in any purse, the shape is non offensive, can be used to relieve headaches as well, and can be used as an anal toy as well for first timers. I give it a five star rating.

Our sales for October we up! What is going on? In such a doom and gloom economy, its nice to know we are rockin. We had our best sales ever in October. Our costumes sales were excellent and we are all so proud of our buyer who help contribute to this success.

So our stores are loaded with excellent lingerie for Christmas. Its amazing how many boxes came in to our warehouse. We will have a ton of new things and I know we have created the most Amazing Gift Card in our industry...wait and see....

Recife then Salvador

Flew to Sao Paulo first, 10 hour flight, then back up 3 hours to Recife, then to Salvador, one hour. Then the next update will be in Rio de Janeiro. Here is the bed from hell in Sao Paulo, I froze my ass off at night and it wasn't very comfy anyway.
Brazil is a third world country, according to the locals which to me also means things are reasonable cheap.
I see a lot of old buildings around. By hey, its fun being here. When in Rome....

My first meal in Sao Paulo, now that is a steak, and I had this for lunch. It was a good as it looks. I had it in an the Yorkville of Sao Paulo.

Marta's model here showing off her bullets. Was very effective. Yes, she is wearing a top. I would have taken more photos of the sex show, but I didn't want to waste the pixels.....seriously it was small, but not bad for a young industry.

Here is my hotel in Recife. Another disaster. You must read the bad stuff as well as the good stuff... I woke up in the morning and ran to the bathroom. It was bad... I went 5 times in a two hour span. I was done. At 5:00pm I went to sleep after trying to walk around this city. I slept until 830pm and woke up in severe pain. It was scary. I'm feeling almost a call to the doctor. Luckily it lasted about 20 Min's or so which felt longer, and it seemed to pass. At this point I have acquired some medicine earlier in the day and had taken it. Anyway, I felt better and walked to try to fine a McDonalds, or Burger King. I found nothing so my meal was in-room Pringles. The photo beside here is showing my best friend...god bless the Brazilians for the hose! Every hotel so far here has this hose. Guess its the cheap mans Bidet I guess.

I didnt' stay in Recife long, basically one full day and I took off to Salvador. Recife was nice but no eats close and very few spoke English.

So Salvador, here is my room. All reviews of hotels were bad. I stayed in a Pousada. I small hotel. They are all over in Brazil. I took the top room in this one that was rated the best. Wow, honestly a great room. I didn't want to leave it. I fell in love. Pool, nice shower, where is my WIFE. I may swim in that pool but even if I don't, its great to look at.

Isn't this a great photo? Sure its not the greatest view of a port, but still its very cool. If this place was close, I'd buy it, that's how much I love being here. The suffering I did before paid off here.

Peaceful.....

Sao Paulo - Brazil

I couldn’t believe what happened at the airport. For BMS, and a Brazilian customer, named Marta, I brought a shipment with me. All loaded in a big box for her. Ends up being free shipping for her which is huge. Since I travelled business class, it free to carry excess baggage. Marta is someone who originally tried to sell me Brazilian Lingerie, while I was logged into Skype and I talked her into selling sex toys for me. I worked with Marta, and vowed to support her and help develop her business. Then she was too busy to pick me up at the airport, which still was two days away. So I immediately decided that Marta, is someone not worthy of my support anymore. The problem is since I declared the shipment and didn't want to get caught, customs seized the shipment and I had to end up writing a sob sorry to try to get it back and getting it back means just to take it back home. Marta will not get it at all. I think customs is stealing it. Its bad enough there are thieves in the streets, now the government is doing it. What I did was honest and wanted to avoid this hassle by declaring it. Then they steal from me. I will know the verdict on Monday. So Marta, didn't care and is doing her own thing, and I'm going to do my own thing and not be exclusive with her anymore. Something even more weired was the constant repeated Text message from her. Same message over and over...was weird...

So I contacted someone who contacted us before and has a small chain of stores. She immediately offered to pick me up at the airport and have dinner. We will do business with this person. I just saw Marta at the show for a minute and gave her the T-shirts as I promised. The good thing is I met other people which should make the whole trip worth it.

I have been here for 3.5 days now in Sao Paulo. Nice city but driving is crazy. Food is great, as I have been taken out twice for dinner. My hotel was located (thanks to Marta) in a bad area, close to the Mickey Mouse sex show that I did in one hour. The hotel room was always cold and I could never get warm in the middle of the night. Yesterday and today finally got a little warm, but nights are cool and there is no heat to be found here, as it doesn’t get all that cold.

Now, I’m at the airport, business is over and it’s time to explore for a few days. When the Taxi driver dropped me off, he said be careful with the computer. Don’t put it down or it will be gone. I’m off north to Recife which in this part of the world means warmer. Three hours by plane. Who knows what will happen. About Tuesday or Wednesday I will be off to Salvador, which is south of Recife, again, a city by the sea which also has a big Carnival. Then finally, the city we all have heard about, Rio.
I laugh to myself how I will describe Brazil…to the guys. Hey if you are a Tit man, stay north. If you are an ass and hips man, head south to Brazil…

I’m officially a visible minority. A Gringo as they call me. No ass, and burn up just thinking of the sun.

Later….

The Factory of BMS in China AWN sister company!

Just look at our offices in China. I'm so proud. Its better than our own head office! Sorry guys....THIS IS A REAL PHOTO NO PHOTOSHOP HERE.

Well yesterday I was so proud of our factory. We have a lot of talent here. Eric, Sandy's husband, has two degrees in Engineering. Electrical and Mechanical, and one other guy has been there for about two years, has an electrical engineering degree, and finally, they just hired one other guy that has en electrical engineering degree as well. So technical obstacles are a piece of cake.

This apparatus is a testing device. We are going to measure with accuracy how our product stands up to our competition's product, and we can't wait to do that.

Its great to be able to make a product, but when you make it well, you must show it, and prove it. So stay tuned on that one.

We will go above and beyond. Our factory is not only good, we are great and we will prove it to all, and our products will speak for themselves.

I didn't know that this man was blind when I took this photo. I just thought it was a guy playing an instrument and it would be a cool photo.

The other photo was just something I couldn't resist either. You should see some of the stuff see people carrying here on their bikes.

Shanghai and Ningbo

Ok, I went up to the New World Financial Tower in Shanghai. Wow what a sight. I love doing these things.

Well now I am in Southern China and the weather is sticky and hot - Typhoon Country. I'm an hour out of Hong Kong. Here transportation is great and people are all friendly. Well so far so good.

Here is a video I put on YouTube.com. The video is about the building design in Shanghai. I took some photos of residential buildings and just look at how beautiful some are, and that also goes for the commercial ones. The style in Shanghai is to dress up the top of the buildings, its a need thing to see at night. As you can see, I'm a big fan.

Bye for now...

China Trip fall 2008

Well I'm been busy and neglecting my blog, such a bad boy. Well hey give me a break, its summer and there is golf. My buddies are laughing at me as I'm not playing well. I went from a 12 handicap to a 15. I attribute this to the love of my business and not golf crazy as much as I was. Don't get me wrong, but from day one, I have always said I golf 50% just to be with my friends and 50% for the golf. I need to get out and laugh and have a few beers with the boys. Its important to me. When I die, I hope they say I'm Mr. Balance life. Work family and pleasure. I could, to be honest work a little more on the family part, but that is even getting harder with the boys working on their social lives.

So here I am in Shanghai. I'm in heaven. Could I live here? I'm not sure, but I certainly love to visit. I mean things are cheap and I almost forgot how cheap they are. I went to a convenience store and I bought two beers and two waters. The water was large at 550ml and the beer was a whopping 600ml. Total bill came to 12 something and change RMB. The conversion rate is 6.40 for the Canadian dollar. So basically less then 2 bucks. I love China. Ok the beer wasn't a twist top, but the waster was Nestle. Not the best, but wow, 2 bucks.

Today I will try to check out the worlds 3rd tallest building. You can download the video which was shown on the discovery channel a short time ago on this amazing construction project. I have stayed in the Hyatt next door which is shown on the video.

Following Shanghai, is a trip to Ningbo on September 3. I will take the bus and hopefully travel on the worlds longest bridge that just opened 6 months ago.

See you soon...after I take some photos from the Shanghai's World Financial Tower
